like ReMask, DeNoise, etc., so I bought the ReStyle yesterday using the coupon. I have been getting beautiful results on photos that I have played with so far, works wonders on flowers/landscapes but there is tweaking that is required. The controls are quite good and the edge aware masking works well unless you expect perfection, tweaking does that. What are presets anyway, for me they are a starting point that I can then fine tune with available controls to my liking not a one click does it all if that were the case I would rather watch grass grow. If all you expect to do is click on the preset and you're done then I too would uninstall it immediately.

I have to agree that is exactly how I felt when I first tried the free trial but playing with the controls changed my mind. At least if you find something you like you can fine tune it to taste. I do tend to agree with your comments about it being 'exploratory processing' and with 1000 presets there is a lot of 'exploring to do' especially with names like 'Byzantium ink' or 'Pandora chiffon'. The 'first time' you use the plug in it sets up all the presets and takes 3 minutes but from then on it is 10 seconds or so. The bit about the 3 minute start up is a little misleading. I wish they would focus more on Denoise (make it faster and easier to use), but no, they chosen to go after the instagram kind of users that want a one click way to "spicify" their photos.Ī new plug-in has been announced by Topaz Labs called Topaz restyle. I uninstalled this plugin without remorse. Let's see what this button does.aha, and this button?.uhhhh! The core effects are not extracted like in Color Efex (cross processing, neutral density).Remix felt more like a bundle of effects that change your photo in a way or another. It's like exploratory processing for clueless people. Then this approach to processing which involves blindly clicking on presets made by others is just a huge turn off for me. It had to precalculate all those effects.why? what if I don't want to use all of them? It is very very slow, took like 3 minutes until the start up setup finished.
I played a bit with it and I have to say I was very unimpressed.
